Account, quota and plans
How the Card Coach AI quota works.
This page is about Card Coach AI, the built-in AI service. If you use OpenRouter, Kimi or your own key, you don't need an account here; you pay your provider directly.
Your account
- Create an account from the add-on (Connection → Connect to Card Coach AI) or on this site with Start free.
- Confirm your email with the code we send you.
- Signing in from Anki happens in your browser. Anki receives a connection token by itself, so you never paste a key.
- Forgot your password? Use Reset password.
How quota works
- Every new account gets a free trial quota.
- Your quota is shown as a percentage left, in Anki (Connection page) and on your dashboard.
- Each answer uses some quota. Longer conversations, long answers and Card Coach Thinking use more.
- Repeated questions served from the answer cache use none.
TIP
To make quota last: use Brief answers, click Clear when you change topic so old messages aren't resent, and keep Thinking for the hard questions.
Top-ups
- Top-ups are one-time payments. There is no subscription.
- Each pack is valid for a set time, shown on the top-up page. Unused quota from a pack expires when its time is up.
- The quota that expires soonest is always used first.
- Payment is handled by Ko-fi. Your quota is added as soon as the payment is confirmed.
