Install the add-on

Get Card Coach from AnkiWeb in under a minute.

Card Coach is published on AnkiWeb, Anki's official add-on site. Its add-on code is 1853880217.

Install from AnkiWeb

  1. Open Anki on your computer. Use the desktop app, not AnkiWeb in a browser.
  2. Open the add-ons window. Click Tools → Add-ons, or press Ctrl+Shift+A (Cmd+Shift+A on a Mac) from the main window.
  3. Click Get Add-ons… and paste 1853880217, then click OK.
  4. Restart Anki. A Card Coach menu appears in the top menu bar, after Help.

Every entry in the Card Coach menu opens the matching page of the settings window:

  • AI: Card Coach AI, Connection, Model, Answer style, Quick prompts
  • Study: Chat panel, Images, Grading
  • More: Advanced, Experimental

Updating

Anki checks for add-on updates at startup. To check by hand, open Tools → Add-ons and click Check for Updates. Your settings, chats and highlights are kept.

Turning it off or removing it

In Tools → Add-ons, select Card Coach and click Toggle Enabled to switch it off, or Delete to remove it. Explanations you saved into note fields stay on your cards.
